England's uncapped spinner Shoaib Bashir has been ruled out of the first Test of the India tour due to visa issues. Bashir, of Pakistani heritage, was unable to join the squad from Abu Dhabi's training camp. The England and Wales Cricket Board initially sought assistance from the BCCI, but Bashir was instructed to address the matter directly with the Indian High Commission.
