Joe Root scored an unbeaten century and star pacer James Anderson bagged three wickets as England were in commanding position at the end of rain-trucated Day 2 of the second Test at Basin Reserve in Wellington on Saturday. England, who had won the opening Test by 267 runs, are leading the two-match series 1-0.
