The odds were stacked against Kamalpreet Kaur. First, she was deprived of a personal coach to guide her on the biggest stage. Far from closing ranks, a senior colleague then levelled charges of hyperandrogenism. Isolated and dispirited coming into the Olympics, Kamalpreet did what she does best: take it out on the poor discus. And what a fine decision that proved!
